Natural hair reputation has been crucified by society and media today.
In today's media and television, natural hair is not portrayed in a positive limelight like that of straight hair. This leads to the notation that natural hair is unprofessional and borderline shameful.
The Global Ethics Network 2015 stated, “Media of today is playing an outstanding role in creating and shaping of public opinion.” The stereotype of natural hair being derogatory in the media is shaping the public opinion and society’s view on natural in a negative limelight.
